Title: Gold weight finally implanted
Post by: lauralynn on August 10, 2009, 01:34:09 pm
I had my gold weight implanted this past Wednesday.  All went well.  It is still a bit swollen and is bruising a little bit.  My eye closes all the way which my doctor says is excellent.  Anyone who has had a gold weight implanted....about how long did it take for the swelling to go down?  As much as I didn't want to get the gold weight, my eye is finally getting some relief.  Just can't wait for the swelling to go down.

Laura Lynn ~

I'm pleased to learn that your gold weight implant was successful.  I trust others who have undergone this procedure will be able to answer your question regarding swelling.

I had an excellent outcome with my weight, no bruising or swelling at all. However, before surgery, my doctor told me that I might have a black eye for up to four weeks. I hope yours does not last that long.

You might get more responses by asking a moderator to move this question to "Eye Issues" or just go there to do a search for eyelid weights.

Best wishes,
Sara

Hi Laura Lynn:  So glad you have the weight - as far as swelling, everyone is different,  but I think mine took about a week.
Always good thoughts,  Nancy
