Title: Little victories
Post by: saralynn143 on August 10, 2009, 10:04:50 pm
After a gruelling morning, in which I had to leave my son, who was getting his braces put on, at the orthodontist while running my daughter to the salon to get her hair cut before her surgery tomorrow, and later in the afternoon had to juggle doctor and physical therapy appointments for said daughter because EVERYBODY EXCEPT ME was running late, I decided to relax with a well-deserved glass of wine.

Six weeks or so ago I had to stop having a glass of wine in the evening because I began drooling again after a long period of doing fine drinking from a glass and I just cannot adapt to drinking wine through a drinking straw. Most discouraging.

I am happy to report that tonight I enjoyed a smooth-bodied French Cabernet-Merlot in a simple yet elegant stemmed wine glass.

These little victories are just the best.

Sara ~

Congratulations!  Not only for being able to enjoy a well-deserved glass of wine again, but for having the discernment to appreciate that as the victory it is for you.

Oh I am SOOH jealous. That was my favorite. But now sulfates and me do not hit it off and the truth is some berries and grapes I still cannot stand the taste of- being that I did not get 100% recovery of the facial nerve- affecting my taste buds.

Nevertheless I am very happy for you.

Cheers (with caramel latte in hand)

Salute, SaraLynn!

You are right about the straw being a bit of a mood-killer when it comes to wine, but I count my blessings every day that I still enjoy the taste of a lovely, beefy red wine (even if a bit of it finds its way to my chin all too often!)  ;)

See you in Chicago.

Why is it that so many of us have that problem? Just when we seem to be drinking from a glass just fine we start dribbling again. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster lately and never know or trust my drink from a glass. Some days I do ok, some days I feel like I'm starting all over. Does this ever end??
