Thanks for the update. I had no idea. This hotel is only 30 miles from my house. I purchased the CD's via ANA and enjoyed every minute. So much information! Would love to go but not a "Wench"...Sorry! Is there a male adjective for this word???? :-\
-
You could be known as a surley bloke! Woo hoo!!! The wenches are crashing at Flyersfan68's pad!!!!!!!!!!! Kidding, OK! Don't panic on us!
July 2007 will give me plenty of time to have surgery and be back up and raring to go again. I'd love to join you all!

FlyersFan, oh, we welcome you and we promise we won't harrass you too much! Actually, I'm looking forward to finally meeting "face to face" many AN'ers that I have been conversing. The local group leader in Metro Boston has given up the realm, so I have yet to meet anyone local (hey JoeF! Crazykat!) but looking forward to meeting many from here and hearing what ANA is going to present.

I think it's a fab idea for all of us to meet... unless... Vegas? September? ;)

I attended the Symposium last year which was held in Orlando. I gathered a wealth of information on all treatments. I was pre treatment at the time. The University of Florida was the host so many of their physicians spoke. It was well balanced towards all treatments with some friendly ribbing between the different points of view. Dr Brackmann from House spoke as well as many others. I would recommend it to anyone pre or post treatment. I plan to attend, even though I have had my surgery.

Gennysmon, I will have to think about all you "Wenches" crashing at my pad. Also, I'm not a big FAN of parrots. Could you leave the bird at home??? Sincerely, Surley Bloke :D

Hey Phyl....
Whadayasay we get together at the Burlington Mall sometime soon? I'll bring my MRI photos for conversation sake. We'll eat at the foodcourt or something and compare notes. I'll bring my girlfriend Jody with me who I know you'll really like.

I have attended the last 2 symposiums mostly due to the location of them so made for a nice vacation. I was looking for NF2 info and enjoyed having Dr Slattery give the session on bilateral tumors. If one is post treatment it is a nice way to meet other ANers and if pre treatment to get information and also to see we all look pretty normal in most cases. I only saw one person with a walker last summer. I loved Disney World and want to go back but not in the heat of summer. I doubt I will be going to Philadelphia.

Cheryl,
Thanks so much for sharing this with me/us! VERY helpful so we know what to possibly anticipate! :) Hope you are doing well and hanging tough!
Paul, you are on! If you want, email me here on the site and coordinate that coffee with you and your gf. My bloke will be here in 2 wks from London but regardless, so looking forward to meeting another local An'er... have spoken on the phone to a few, but not met in person.

OK, told my other half that we need to go to Philly in 7/07. I think it will work out well because the next week he has a conference in Montreal, so we may make a sojourn of it!!!!!!!

hmmmmmmmm... and if I can get my CB on this side of the pond (permenantly) by then.... hmmmmmmmm.
I'm still looking forward to attending... will be curious to see what the Symposium agenda will be.
-
You know I missed the symposium last year was too busy getting treatment and it was in my back yard! Yes, Disney in the summer is not the happiest place on earth..october is much better...even now the weather has been good!
Philly was my first solo big city trip...looking forward to it!
Flyersfan ya best get the pull out couch ready cause he we come!
Now why don't you want to go on the ship with us...we're nice wenches!
-
I'm soo ecxited about this conference! I hope bunches of us can make it. I've stayed at a Doubletree and they have really nice suites that can sleep at least 4--we should get rezzies in soon. I'm definitely in if someone wants to room w/me. Wouldn't it be a hoot to all show up in our pirate gear? At least for a social thing or something.

I went to the conference this last June and found it very helpful! Hence, I am now 1 1/2 weeks postop.
Anyway I plan to go to Philadelpia with lots less and more time to help others!

Well you metioned dr. love in an earlier thread...in that case I'll room with ya! Just didn't want to have to drown out the sounds LOL
-
I am so there! I live about 30-60 minutes from Philly (depending on traffic) and would love to see what it is like. Moved out of Philly about 7 years ago, not too much brotherly love going on where I lived so be careful! Would love to meet everyone from the forum. I have a button maker, maybe I can make buttons with everyone's name and forum name on them if you're interested (when we get closer). Would make it easier to recognize each other. I am definitely siked! Anyone know who will be sponsoring it?
