A friend introduced me to this event and I thought my fellow AN-er's might be interested. There are organized events in several areas on the west coast.
"Angel Adventure® is a fundraising walk and community day to support brain tumor research and patient services at the National Brain Tumor Foundation."

Thank you! I checked out their website and they have a walk in Phoenix in October. I am going to register when they have more info. :D

I saw a commercial on tv for the Brain tumor foundation and I think a walk is coming up in the next couple of weeks in San Francisco. Thinking about joining in this time.

Hmmm..none in my area...it would be funny to see me walk in one LOL

Sue, there's one in Portland on 5/20. Too bad I already have plans, that would be fun!! Of course, this is assuming my foot would last for 3.1 miles!!!!!!
-
This is so odd, because I just said to someone, Boy you don't see any walkathons for us!. Guess they do! LOL
-
That would be so much fun. Is there one in Ohio?
-
Ok, since there is not one in Boston, anyone here that does the walk, I will $$ sponsor per mile (or however they do it!)
Put me down as a financial sponsor and let me know if any of you are walking! :) And kudos if you do! You rawk!

There is one is Chicago this first Sat. in May. I thought about going, but didn't want to go by myself. We should find out where each of us lives and plan on doing the walks together! That would be great fun, meeting new friends ,walking for health as well as charity and Brain Tumor awareness!Luv2teach

I am walking in San Francisco on 5/06. I would love to meet a fellow AN-er! Please find me, I should be easy to spot... my facial paralysis can be seen from 5 miles away... atleast it feels that way.

NBTF raised $502,000 and there were ~1100 registered participants! There were many teams "in memory of" brain tumor patients, which made me all the more grateful to be alive and able to walk in this thing.
It was a short 3 miles and because everyone was jammed together, it was more like a stroll in the mall on a busy Saturday. Not enough room for power walking, we all just shuffled along.
Free food: pastries disappeared quickly in the morning. 1/2 sandwich and cookie were ok but the place was mobbed and lacked organization.
Typical spring day in Golden Gate Park: gray and windy. It was sunny near Union Square and warm at home in the suburbs 8)
Overall, a good cause for fundraising and a worthwhile day! But will I do it next year? Honestly, I don't think so.
