Title: Medication Guide to Migraine Prevention
Post by: Captain Deb on September 12, 2010, 02:52:42 pm
I was snooping around the web and came across this list of meds used both on and off label for migraine prevention, along with links to more details about them:

Thanks, Captain for this.   I was just going to start a post on Lyrica but will add it here.   My doctor dropped my Verapamil yesterday when I called and told him that my headaches were continuing even though he increased the dose from 200 to 240mg.  It says on the PubMed website that it takes a few weeks to work.   It says on the chat room here that you posted that you get weight gain which I don't need especially since he also is weaning me from Topamax which helps you lose weight.   One person in the chat room started using Meridia.  I'll have to check on that.   I joined a gym and have a personal trainer that starts next week so that should help.  I just hope I don't get headaches and can keep up in the gym.  I really want to give this gym a try and not give up.   We've got to fight these headaches.

Thanks for this great list, Deb!

Hugs,
Mei Mei
