Hello - I had my surgery 2 yrs ago. My left side was completely paralyzed for 4 months then I started getting some movement. After about a year I was able to blink my eye finally but I also developed synkenisis (sp?) which gave me a wonderful cleft in my chin :(
Anyway, I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that my face seems to be moving less than before and now my eye has slowed down on the blinking.
Has anyone out there had experiences with symptoms worsening?

Steph,
I too have synknesis. I had a cleft chin for a while; however, I had three Botox treatments at the direction of my physical therapist. My last treatment was February 14. The Botox has worn off and the cleft chin did not return.
No problem with symptoms worsening. Sorry that I can't help you with that.

Don't know why you're taking 1 step backwards, but I would check things out with a/your neurologist. I never regained any movement (facial nerve was cut & I opted out on the 7/12 nerve graft). Thinking good thoughts for you, Nancy
