For all those out there who have 'slight wobbles' now and then, I went away for 4 days and had a bit of an accident. At home I have a walk-in shower and being in a strange bathroom with a shower over the bath I turned round too quickly to step out of the bath and fell (due to my wobble) I am now the proud owner of a bruised kidney and bruised ribs OUCH!!

Pam ~
I'm sorry to learn of your fall in the bath but glad nothing was broken. Balance is constantly a challenge for many AN patients and caution has to be used in all settings. However, sometimes the slightest 'wrong' move can cause a fall of some kind. I hope your kidney and rib bruises heal quickly.

Thanks Jim, I'm not really sure if I turned too quickly, had a bit of a wobble or just tried to walk out the bath as if I was in my own shower. But I will be more careful. It's the first time I've been away since having my tumour out and it has knocked my confidence.

I too am sorry to hear that happened for you. If that is the first time you had an injury since surgery, you must be doing pretty well most of the time? Take good care of you.

Hi Karen yes it is my first injury and it's really painful I think I might have got a bit over confident,

I am SO picky about what showers I use when I'm not at home. I have those suction cup grab bars that you can buy in Walmart, in my shower at home. I have learned not to turn my head and shoulders and feet at the same time. That's the movement that usually undoes it for me. Be careful!

Thanks sunfish. When I kept falling over due to my tumour my builder son took my bath out and put in a walk-in shower and after having tumour out I've been fine in my shower. I'm not sure if I thought I was at home and went to walk out the shower when I was an unfamiliar bath, or turned too quickly. It was our 45th wedding anniversary and went away for a week, I will remember our anniversary but for the wrong reasons. I will be more careful in future.
