Title: Utterance of the day

While putting on mascara today: "Oops!  Wow, if that had been my other eye, that would have hurt like hell!"

Just thought I'd share.  :)

I remember when the neurosurgeon touched my cornea with a q-tip.  No responce from me but my sisters and sister in law freaked out bad.  I never thought about it again.  I wonder if now that the tumor is gone if it would hurt to get poked in the eye?  Going to get a q-tip right now.......................ouch.  The cornea responds to a q-tip.  Good news!!  Kathy

Ha ha ha, me too!!!!!  I can't make make-up faces anymore.  I can close my left eye to apply shadow to it, but now have to apply shadow to my right eye with my right eye open, since I can't close my right eye without my left eye closing.  Mascara was fun when my lid drooped just enough to get it all over it.  I guess I'll scare people less with a lopsided face with makeup on it, than without.  The other thing I'll do is be scrubbing my face with a washcloth or something, and forget that even though my right eye is closed, it's only barely gravity keeping it closed.  If I'm not careful, I'll drag the washcloth upwards, catch my lid and wipe whatever it is I have all over my eye.  I've done that 3 times now.

Too hard to put on make up with a face you can't feel and while you wobbling like a weeble wobble!

Okay ladies, as a former Lancome make up artist, I will give you a lesson in mascara application.........  Hold your eyelid with one finger, not the hand you are uusing to hold the mascara wand, go under the lash with the brush.  Your finger holds the eyelid still while you apply.  Now eyeliner is another story......................................

Ouch - Q-Tip or makeup in the eye... this sounds painful!
