Title: Traveling with a scleral lens
Post by: saralynn143 on June 10, 2014, 10:13:22 pm
I will write more later, but wanted to let everyone know that I wore my scleral lens today while snorkeling in Costa Rica. Everything was clear as could be, from the dolphins to the starfish. Life is good!

Hi Sara,

WOW, so great to hear the lens is working so well for you and of course it's great to hear you are having so much fun!  I'm SO JEALOUS!  Thanks for giving us something to look forward to!  Looking forward to hearing about your trip.  Have fun and post when you get back.  Jill Marie

I also wore the lens white water rafting. I took along a good pair of swim goggles specifically for this activity. The tour guide thought they would fog up and diminish my enjoyment, and suggested that I sit toward the back and close my eyes during a wave. I decided that losing a $750 lens was more likely to diminish my enjoyment, and if I closed my eyes I wouldn't be totally experiencing the event either. As it turns out the goggles never fogged and I ended up overboard so it's a very good thing I opted to wear them.
