Hello Dear All!
I have read somewhere (unfortunately now do not remember where, but I will try to find it again and post here) about the impact of progesterone on AN growth.
Also noticed here a post about regrowth of tumor after pregnancies.
I am calculating now that the size of my AN (assuming that it grows about 1mm per year, as mostly is suggested as a general rule) is somehow connected with, basing on years ago that I have been treated by progesterone pills because of ovarian cyst (didn't help, unfortunately, and I remember that I have had an extremely bad rush over the body because of these luthein pills :/)
Maybe it is some kind of an autoimmune response for raised progesterone levels? I have also Hashimoto, so seems that I am "prone" to autoimmune problems.
Also my symptoms seems to be a bit worse in the second half of the cycle.
Have you (especially ladies) noticed also this kind of connection? Maybe you have had some troubles after pregnancies or hormone pills?

Hi I do know that one of the trialled drugs to stop AN progression is Mifpristerone and it is a progesterone agonist.
Mifepristone, a drug used for chemical abortion, may be a promising treatment for vestibular schwannoma (VS), a tumor that can cause hearing loss and tinnitus: Mifepristone is a progesterone and glucocorticoid receptor antagonist that acts on inflammation markers upstream of VS. It reduces the proliferation rate of VS cells by 80% and has a more significant effect on VS cells than arachnoid cells.
Mifepristone is relatively safe and has minimal adverse effects. It does not adversely affect healthy Schwann cells.

Ah yes, also read about this, another example of why I started to consider all this theory ;)
Do you maybe know if the tests are performed in U.S. only, or in Europe also?
