I am nearing 16 months post surgery.
I had a 1.2x1.7x1.9cm AN removed on the right side.
This week something very wierd happened.
My mouth and tongue went numb. Similar feeling to being sprayed in the mouth with the numbing agent before a scope test. (or) the way your mouth and throat feels prior to vomiting.
I had a couple concerns about this so i contacted my primary dr, dentist and my neuro-surgeon.
Primary says could be allergies -- did 3 days on zyrtec with no change, Dentist did full panagraphic xray ( i knew i had a root canal tooth break) and nothing showed on xray.
Neurosurgeon says MRI now... I am waiting for a local dr to order the xray
I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience... and how did it turn out... could this be sign of another AN or possibly NF2??
Anxiously awaiting answers.
Thanks all

Hi Ray!
Just a note to say I've read others post this in past years and have read of it's occurance on a web site.
16 months post op is quite a ways out, however.
Best wishes for your MRI. That would be a mighty quick regrowth if something shows in the same location.

Ray, please write when you know something. Your surgical team is the one I currently have scheduled, so I'm mighty interested. - Jack

Had MRI Tuesday ... report and films show nothing... thank goodness.
Had 2 shattered root canal teeth. when the one shattered a few weeks ago it cracked another molar to the root. numbness is gone.. had the 3 teeth surgically removed yesterday morning.
Mystery solved.
and Dr Martuza had gotten back to me in like 1/2 hr. So definitely i reccomend his office.

Ray - I have been checking this post for your update to see how all went and I am so happy for you. (Well, not about having teeth pulled) But glad the MRI checked out fine.
Have a great weekend!
