After my 2nd MRI this year, the Acoustic Neuroma grew 20% (it's at nearly 5 mm now) and haver been recommended for the Gamma Knife procedure to take place on December 4th because of the rate of growth. While there is the small chance my hearing will get worse (it already is anyway) my true hope is the long-term positive effects of no more vertigo and imbalance issues while walking or other activities.

May I ask how the radiosurgery went? Mine is scheduled for this week.

Rose,
My radiation treatment with a non event. I had the procedure in the morning and BBQ that afternoon. I was a one and done, not sure what you are doing. Recently a friend had a 5 treatment procedure and she took public transportation. I wished I was around to help her but the story goes to say how the process is not difficult.
Good luck next week,
Dan

It went well! I had a GREAT care team at the place where I had it done. I didn't sleep too well, and I imagine that was at least in large part due to whatever medicine they gave me--either for pain or for numbness. I was able to go out yesterday, for a walk with a friend, and to a couple places with her driving. Today, I have some imbalance issues so am staying home from work.
