Title: Radiosurgery options and machine comparisons

For those that are interested:

 The attached link to the CK Society web site provides a very clear and thorough discussion of Radiosurgery, one shot vs FSR and a comparison of all existing machine technologies.

  "One shot" is a misnomer. Fot GK, there are 201. others, more.
  Gamma rays whether produced by a cobalt cource or Linear Accelerator are not exactly benign little creatures. They can do damage. So can surgery.

Not to nitpick, but linear accelerators produce x-rays, not gamma rays. But both are forms electromagnetic radiation and have the same effect on tissue. They can do damage and that's why they're useful, to damage the tumor cells. As you said, both treatments can cause nerve damage, the difference being in the likelyhood. What is meant by "one shot", is one treatment in one day.
