There are two options either an eye weight to take the top lid down
or an eye lift to take the lower lid up a little (2-3mm)
Most cases are a "day case"
The eye weight is usually GOLD - so you really will be
a "Golden eye"
The amount of manual fluid required post OP is reduced
as the dry/exposed area is now much less
the lift OP creates more a U shape in the eyelid so
fluids are retained longer. Sometimes the eye-tear-exit-route
is deliberately plugged as well to keep fluids longer.
These are all "Options" I cant really say which is,or might be,
the best for you
You might want to discuss the pros and cons of each
before you make a choice
Best Regards

I have a platinum weight in my left eye lid.
It was out patient surgery, lasted maybe an hour, done at the hospital was "awake" for it, couldn't feel a thing, but could talk to dr. and my insurance covered it. Also, yes, I believe you do have to continue to use the lube, unless you are producing tears. I am not, so I still use the lube.

I could not close my eye at all. My eye Dr put a gold weight in and I have been wearing for about a year. Very simple procedure, kinda cool. It took about 30 minutes max and I was awake for it but feeling fine. I was in the hospital at the time but this procedure can be done in an office. I plan on having my current weight removed this Fall and go with a lighter weight. However I have another eye surgery scheduled for August for my double vision by another eye Dr so I want to wait until I recover from that surgery before I have my weight reduced in size. The eye lid has a slight bulge in it but it is not that noticeable. I use ointment and drops to lubricate.
