Title: Starbucks book
Post by: leapyrtwins on February 10, 2008, 08:55:59 am
I finally got around to purchasing and reading the "Starbucks book" by Michael Gates Gill.  It's about an older very privileged man who loses his job in corporate America and finds a "new life" working at Starbucks.  Someone mentioned it on this forum a few months ago since Michael also finds out he has an AN around the same time he loses his job.

I liked the book, but was a little disappointed because he never says what he did about his AN.  He talks about it a little bit, but I felt like I was left hanging by not knowing what treatment option he chose and what the end results were.  Does anyone happen to know what choice he made  ???  Is there some way I could find out  ???

It's not keeping me up at night, but I'm really curious.

From what I get from this article, he is a "wait and watcher". i

I can't wait for the movie, I love Tom Hanks!

Thanks Lisa!  I kept meaning to check into this, but hadn't yet.  Interesting article!  I certainly know there are days when I'd gladly quit and work at Starbucks (if it wasn't so noisy!).

Was a good read. My son bought it for me for xmas. My graduate class does corporate reserach and starbucks is researched a lot due to the benefits they offer part timers.

They're actually going to make a movie out of that?
