This forum has been invaluable. I reached a point tonight of total peace.
I'm at peace with my decision, am confident in my surgeon and I'm just not worrying about it. (disclaimer: I reserve the right to change my mind at any time! LOL)
Surgery Thurs the 21st, mid fossa, U of IA Hospital, Dr. Gantz. 9mm left side AN. Thanksfully small. :)
I've read a lot, posted a little. I have decided to take the advice of some of my new friends and Wed night my son is taking me out to a nice Rib dinner at Texas Roadhouse! yummy!
Big hugs to everyone on the forum for the support, words of wisdom and welcome. It really DOES make a difference.

I will be thinking about you and praying for you on Thursday. I'm so glad you are at peace about the surgery and with your doctor. That helps alot.
This web site was so helpful to me, also. It just makes you feel better to know that you aren't the only one out there with this disease.....and that others have gone thru it, and are doing great. My surgery was just last month, so know that it takes awhile to start feeling better. I'm sure you will do fine, and may God bless you!
Enjoy your dinner on Wed!!!!!

Hi Cathy,
I know the feeling you are having of being totally at peace with your decision. I too had this feeling before my surgery on July 25. All of my questions had been answered, I had total faith in my doctors and was fairly certain my outcome would be good. So far, my recovery has surpassed anything I'd hoped for. I feel I owe the peace of mind I had largely to the support I found here. I will be thinking of you on Thursday and you will be in my prayers. Is someone posting for you after your surgery? We're like mother hens here and like to know how our chicks are doing.
Wishing you all the best,
Wendy

Yes, I have asked my daughter to post for me in my absense. ;) Is there any certain topic she should post updates in?

Cathy,
Glad you're at peace about your decision. I, too, felt like that after making my decision. I don't know that I had felt that way without this forum and all that I have gained and learned from it.
I will be thinking of you on Thurs. and praying for a good outcome.
I'll be looking for updates.

Cathy-
Glad you are feeling at ease. I think that many of us, me included, found the last few days leading up to surgery to be strangely peaceful. I'll be sending you prayers and good wishes on Thursday and will look for your daughter's post.
Debbi, sending good energy and prayers your way...

Cathy:
Please allow me to offer my congratulations to you on your decisions and express my happiness in knowing that you are, as you so succinctly put it: 'at peace'. That is a beautiful place to be. :)
The hopes and prayers of many, many people will be going out to you and for you on Thursday....mine will be included.
See you 'on the other side' as a 'postie' (post-operative AN patient). May you have a flawless surgery and a rapid recovery. :)
