I just read an article in PEOPLE magazine about a 90s singer for a group called TLC who discovered an Acoustic Neuoma she said that was the size of a grapefruit.  Couldn't be.  But, she had it removed surgically (12 hour operation at Cedars Sinai) and can hear again from that ear!  She says that it has taken a lot to get her balance back and she says she gets horrible headaches.  She said she just wants to get her smile back.

Kathy ~

This interesting story has been discussed here: http://anausa.org/forum/index.php?topic=10680.0.  Feel free to add to the thread.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Thanks so much for letting me know.  There has been a lot of discussion.  I think it is amazing that she could hear after the operation.
