titanium plate is now out!
« on: February 07, 2010, 01:22:17 pm »
Hello, friends!
My surgery last Friday went well (see thread: titanium plate exposed). The surgeon removed my titanium plate and designed a flap of adjacent skin to cover the area.

I haven't seen my surgeon for my post-op yet, but by looking in the mirror, it looks as though he used the same or nearly the same incision that I had for my translab surgery. This new scar is pretty much that familiar half-moon shape behind the ear: lots of stitches!

Just another bump on the AN road. . . .

I know your prayers and good thoughts have helped! You are wonderful!!!

Best,
Brenda (teffaz)

Brenda ~

I'm pleased to learn that the 'repair' went well.  Here's hoping there are no more 'bumps'!

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.
