No growth and still W&W
« on: August 07, 2010, 10:31:44 pm »
I had my 2nd MRI at 6mos from diagnosis.  I am happy to say the tumor has not grown and my doctor said we can wait 1 year to schedule another MRI provided I remain relatively asymptomatic.  That was very good news to me.  I am hoping I can remain on W&W as long as possible.   ;D

Lauren
diagnosed Feb. 2010
wait and watch
tumor: 6mm
Fall 2018 still W&W 8mm
August 2021 grew to 1.2cm
8/21 Treatment: Fractionated SRS

Lauren ~

Great news!  Thanks for sharing it with us.  I also hope that you can remain a 'watch-and-waiter' for many years to come.  :)

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

That is good news.  I don't know who holds the record for being on "wait and watch"?  Last month I met a man at our AN support meeting that has been 20 years!  Hope we both can do that.

Good luck

Lauren - as a fellow member of W&W - keep up the good work and keep us informed.  Good luck.

9th cranial nerve schwannoma - like an acoustic neuroma on another nerve. Have recently been told it could be acoustic neuroma. Only 7 mm of growth in 18 years. With no symptoms. Continuing W&W
