National Basketball Tournament
« on: March 23, 2010, 06:48:44 pm »
LBAA, not NCAA. Elbee and I are leaving tomorrow afternoon  for the national basketball tournament in Valparaiso, Indiana. Games will be streamed online at www.lbaa.org - the Trinity Lutheran (MO) Lady Tigers' first game is Friday at 2:30pm (Central Time) in the Hilltop Gym. You can also track their progress by checking the brackets at the same website.

Elbee''s jersey number is 32.

Enjoy your weekend wherever it takes you.

You might, Greg, if I can find it. Bright pink doesn't go with navy and gold too well but what the heck. It will look fetching as I do those bleacher runs.

Leaving in about 30 minutes for the pep rally. Then I run my son home and dash back to get Elbee after a short shoot-around and we will be on our way. This is so exciting!

Thanks for your good wishes, everyone. Don't know if I will have a chance to pop in while we're gone or not, so have a great weekend.

Hi again .... Keri mentioned it ..... you mentioned it ..... what's a "bleacher run" ?   ???

Is that something you get in a stocking in the cheap seats at the stadium?   ::)   If so, your enthusiasm will, no doubt, overcome any clothing malfunctions ........

...... feelin dumb as a doornail .... Greg

Bummer. Hard loss today to an excellent team from Wisconsin. But Elbee met her goal of scoring in the national tournament with six points this afternoon. Second game is tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 11:00 CDT again in the Hilltop gym.

Kaybo - first of all, prayers for Kendie. I got an email that a beloved family friend is also in the hospital. Lots of prayers going up.

The girls lost a heartbreaker by just two points this afternoon and are done now. We are cheering on the rest of the Missouri teams. One orf our sister teams lost to the first team to beat us, by the same margin. It's at least a small consolation.

In perspective, the girls had a wonderful season, were invited to the national tournament and played their hears out. The bittersweet part is that the season is over and next year they will be going their separate ways to different high schools.

We will be traveling back home tomorrow so please keep all of the Lady Tigers and their families in your prayers for safe travel.

awww sara, that's tough about the close loss. i remember my son had a heartbreaking football game two years ago. first of all, the weather was a monsoon. they were winning all the way through and did some stupid things at the end and lost. i never cried so much over a football game (except when dallas lost to san francisco after 'the catch' but that was a loooong time ago).
anyway, i'm glad they played well and i guess it will be hard to have them all go separate ways.

grega - 'running the bleachers' - a form of exercise involving running up and down the bleachers! on the 'let's run/walk/etc' thread sara was saying how it would hard to exercise when she was at all these games and i said she could run the bleachers in between games.

kay - glad kendie is doing better.
