This Week 4/25/10 in the AN World
« on: April 25, 2010, 01:59:49 pm »
Sara’s (saralynn143) 4/15/10 MRI was clear.

Marianna’s (mk) 4/16/10 MRI showed that everything is stable.

Mary’s (MLB57) 4/21/10 MRI revealed signs of shrinkage.

Ernie’s (EJTampa) 4/23/10 MRI was clear also.

Kathy’s (kathy g) MRI last week showed that her AN has shrunk as well.

GREAT NEWS!! Congratulations to all of you and the fantastic MRI results you received.

Lisa (Sefra22) we’re sorry there was a mix up with your 4/21/10 MRI, you have every right to be “PEEVED” as you put it.  Hopefully they will make it right, and the retest (with contrast) will be covered, and accompanied with a big “we sorry”.  I guess this is a reminder to all of us to double check with the Dr./radiology department that the MRI will be done with and without contrast.

This week:

Spring seems to be the season for MRIs :o :o

Tuesday Debbi (Debbi) will have her 2 yr MRI.  Debbi we hope your MRI proves to be clear.  I know you’ve heard it before but, thank you and the thoughtfulness of your friend for starting The Magic Scarf, it’s meant so much to so many.

Saturday Scarlett (SML), the 13th recipient of The Magic Scarf, will have her 1 yr MRI.  Dear, even though you had good surgical results, you still have had a very tough year.  I hope things get easier :-*  Clean MRI results would certainly go a long ways.

Our hopes and prayers will be that you both have clear and unremarkable MRIs this week.

On Friday we’d like to wish Happy Birthday to Patrick (texsooner) as he celebrates his 50th birthday.  Congratulations on your completion of the MS 150 bike run from Houston to Austin, and the award you received as the top fundraiser, nice photos.

As always, we hope each day gets easier as each of you continue to recover from your surgeries, and procedures.

Hope everyone has a nice week,

Rich & Scarlett
SML (Scarlett's) other half, she had - 1.5 cm x 2.5 cm Cystic AN - Right side

Spring does seem to be MRI season, which reminds me that I need to schedule my 3rd post op MRI in the next few weeks.

Good luck to Debbi and Scarlett - may your MRIs be clean.

And a huge birthday wish to Patrick!  50 - what a milestone  ;D

Thanks for the good wishes.  I am feeling a bit more anxious this year than last, probably because it's been a full year since the last MRI this time.  Mary Beth (not sure what her forum handle is) is also going to NYU today for her MRI, so maybe we'll meet at the Tunnel O Doom.  I'm seeing Dr Golfinos after the MRI today, so will get prelim results immediately (thank goodness!!)

Scarlett, I'm sending lots of good thoughts your way and hope that your MRI is blob-free!

Thanks Debbi, Jan and my dear husband Rich :-* for the good wishes. I’m a little nervous about going this time too and thinking about taking a valium as well (still have some left over from the surgery)! I haven’t needed it in the past, but for some reason, I’m feeling I won’t be able to lay on the back of my head for that long without having to move. It’s been uncomfortable to lay on since the surgery, but I have periods when it is slightly uncomfortable and periods when it is very uncomfortable (borderline painful). I’m in the VERY uncomfortable period right now :(. I also called to make sure about the contrast. Thank you Lisa for sharing your experience… I’m so sorry you had to deal with that.

Debbi, seeing the doctor right after is great. I have to wait till the 13th for the news (the number 13 does seem to pop up a lot with me – hope it’s just a lucky for me as being the 13th recipient of the magic scarf was ;D) . Sending you and Mary Beth prayers for a clean (aka: blob-free) MRI and an easy go of it in the “tube of gloom”.

Happy Birthday Patrick!

Good wishes to all,
Scarlett

Just wanted you all to know that I am blob-free!!  Mary Beth was still waiting to see Dr Golfinos when I left but she'll text me later.  It was great to see her - we talked none stop and I am sure we drove everyone else nuts!

Scarlett, if you're feeling anxious I do recommend the valium.  It makes it so. Much easier and less stressful.I'm sorry you have to wait so long for results - that in itself is a huge stressor!  I am very fortunate to be able to see the surgeon right away.

Thabks for all the good thoughta and prayers.

Yea!  Congrats, my surgery twin!  I still haven't scheduled my annual MRI and follow up... I guess I need to do that, huh?
