Six week follow up after gamma knife
« on: November 04, 2010, 01:02:48 pm »
I had my checkup this morning.  I have minimal issues, some balance, some headaches, tinnitus (pretty annoying sometimes) but that is about it.  I received a script for steroids if I feel I need them.  But so far so good.  They actually felt I was doing better than expected.  I will have a mri done in december and will meet with the neursurgeon then.....so far so good.  Just wanted to let people know that are having gamma knife about my happy outcome.

Congratulations!  No matter the procedure we're always pleased to learn about good outcomes.  I'm sure you've encouraged prospective GK patients.  Thanks.

Jim
4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Congratulations. Sounds like a good recovery so far. I wish I would have been given steroids right away also as my tumor swelled up and it's causing a lot of aggravation. I have to wait until my MRI on Nov. 24/2010 to see if I will need them.
Keep it up!

Congratulations, formula30! It sounds like you came up with the right "formula" for your treatment!  :D

Glad to hear you're doing so well!

Best wishes,
TW
L. AN 18x12x9 mm @ diagnosis, 11/07
21x13x11 mm @ CK treatment 7/11/08 (Drs. Chang & Gibbs, Stanford)
21x15x13 mm in 12/08 (5 months post-CK), widespread necrosis, swelling

W&W on stable 6mm hypoglossal tumor found 12/08
