thanks for sharing this link.  Dr. Giddings sounds like a fantastic doc.

My neurotologist does all the stuff that Dr. Giddings does - BAHAs, CIs, ear surgeries, surgery and GK for ANs - and I think it was definitely to my advantage when I was diagnosed.  Because my doc does both radiation and surgery, he was able to explain each procedure in detail to me; and in addition, he could also give me the pros and cons of each based his firsthand experience.  He didn't push one treatment or the other on me.  He let me make my own decision.

I think I was very lucky in this regard.

IMO more neurotologists should do radiation as well as surgery.
