New article on the effects of surgery as AN treatment
« on: December 08, 2010, 08:35:25 am »
Hi,

I just spotted this article in the news today. It deals with surgery as AN treatment.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/12/101207121433.htm

Hope you find it just as interesting as I did.

         Eve

Eve ~

The article makes an excellent case for AN surgery - with the results to back it up.  Thanks for the information.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Thanks for posting, I found it interesting that 11% of patients had headaches pre-op.  I had ALL the Dr's I met with tell me my headaches were not related...

Thanks, Eve!

I think what I found most interesting (and scary!) was that their youngest patient was only 9!  Yikes, that's young!
