How long have you had your shunt?

I have a VP shunt. The internet is NOT a nice place to look up info. Everything is so scary. I had it done on an emergency basis, so now I'm kind of learning what it is. I trust my doctors and I know they've done they're best in helping me. I'm just curious and want to hear from those who had one put in and their experiences. I've got lots of anxiety over this because I've read things that aren't so great about them (like having to possibly redo them if there are other problems). I feel fine and I hope it stays that way for a long time. I'm going to start a new job, full time and NEED to pass my probationary period. Thanks all.
