Hello Everyone,
Today is my six year post surgery day! It's hard to believe that it has been that long ago. Life is good and I have no complaints (who would want to hear them anyway?). I was very Blessed to have such a successful surgery and an uneventful recovery. I talk about my surgery to anyone that is having a difficult time facing their own surgery, whatever it may be. Support is what we are all about here. During my research to find the answers I needed to hear and someone to connect with, I found 2 women that totally clicked with me. Kristin and Mary, both of which live in Montana ( I live in Indiana). They were both there for me when I needed them. Many calls during the day and night and many prayers later a decision was made and I have not looked back since. Again, life is good! I believe God places people into our lives at certain times to bring us all closer together. Who would have known that my sister, Mary, would retire from her job in Michigan and move to Montana. Only to find out that Kristin and my sister lived in the same town! Do you know how big Montana is? What are the chances they would only live 10 minutes away from each other? God knew. This past summer I was able to fly out and see my sister for the first time since she moved (5 years ago), and I was able to meet Kristin for coffee. I have to say, the sights out in Montana were wonderful but the highlight of my trip was to meet the person that got me through this whole AN journey and be able to wrap my arms around her and give her a big hug and thank her for all of her help. God puts the right people in our lives at the right time to let us know he is always watching out for us. I couldn't thank her (or God) enough. I continue to read and post on the website whenever possible because I know just how important it can be for someone just newly diagnosed. This website and the people on it are the best! I have met many life long friends who understand me and I them. I am thankful for the opportunity to be on the "willing to talk list" to help and encourage others. They say: out of something bad, something good happens and it couldn't be more true in my case. Thank you ANA for being here when I needed you most. Sincerely, Ann
