Ear cyst removal
« on: September 22, 2011, 06:28:27 pm »
A friend of mine calls me today and asked for my Dr.s phone number. He saw a ENT today and was told he has a ear cyst that will require surgery to be removed, so he wants a second opinion. His ENT said they could go in thru the ear drum and remove and then go back later and rebuild the ear drum, or, go in behind the ear thru the mastoid bone and remove it..........anybody familiar with this?

Thanks,
John

I went to an acupuncturist who successfully treated a cyst in the ear, so I was hoping she could do the same for the AN in my head.  The cyst went away after about 8 to 10 treatments and if this hadn't worked the guy was headed for surgery through the mastoid bone.  I had about 18 treatments but the AN didn't budge... but it didn't grow either.  The acupuncturist is in Santa Monica, CA  Let me now if your friend wants the contact info.  Hope this is helpful.
Wait & Watch
1st Symptom Temporary SHL 7/10 AN Diagnosed via MRI 4/14/11
AN Size 4/14/11 = 1.4cm x 1.8cm x 1.7cm
AN size 7/14/11 = Same - Stable, no growth
AN Size 2/01/12 = 1.3cm x 1.3cm x 1.6cm (5mm reduction)
AN Size 11/27/12 = less than a centimeter! (50% reduction! And I can still hear!)
