Non AN side eye twitching
« on: July 16, 2006, 01:13:21 pm »
I am having a set back today.  I've had a lot of stress lately (since my daughter's divorce troubles began in March).

I am 7 months out post op and having a relapse in taste sense, some AN side cheekbone pains, increased tinnitus, and diminished balance ability, plus eyelid twitching on my non AN side.  Assuming stress has stalled the facial nerve recovery, why would the good side have the eye twitching?  Am I missing something obvious?

Hi Boppie:

Stress fires up my tinnitus something terrible.

I do remember having two taste setbacks myself but I don't remember how many months post op I was.  I do know it was short lived, maybe a week or two before food tasted better.  I was never alarmed so I didn't call my doctor.

I wouldn't worry about the twitching eye.  I do know stress causes eye twitching.  Maybe both of your eyes would be twitching but your AN side can't yet.....your nerves are still healing??  A warm compress is supposed to help.

Call your doctor.  At the very least you will know that all of your symptoms could be from stress and it is nothing to worry about.

I am very sorry your daughter has to go throught this (and you) .........I am just glad all this didn't happen 6 or 7 months ago.

I have been a twitcher for as long as I can remember and it's from stress.  Asked a doctor about it and he kind of just moved on to another subject.  When I went back to it he said it's just a nervous habit :/  Doctors p*** me off!!

Hi Boppie - When I get really stressed, my eye twitches. Since my AN surgery, only my non AN side will twitch. I am sure it is related to the facial paralysis.  Sometimes it will last for a few days or so.  My tinnitus also gets worse when I am under stress as well as all other post AN related issues.  In addition, so do my hot flashes >:(

I am sorry you are going through this, wish I could make it better.

Hugs,
Cheryl

When I worked at JCPenney, every December, from the stresses of everything that December brings, I would get the eye twitch...strangely it was my left eye that I remember that had the tic...Now I know it's my AN side.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that I always twitched with both eyes but since the surgery it's only the non an side.  The an side is lazy and it takes more for me to blink it.
