Dr. Friedman Rocks
« on: December 21, 2011, 01:33:11 pm »
I sent Dr. Friedman an email today asking a few questions. He answered rather quickly. I was shocked. He answered my questions via iphone. I'm assuming he is out for the holdiays. What a nice man to take time out of his personal schedule to answer questions.  :)

Mindy ~

Dr. Rick Friedman is an outstanding doctor who proves a physician can be a leader in his field while being caring and thoughtful toward patients.   Dr. Friedman is one of the reasons the House Research Institute (their new name) is so well-respected, especially (but not exclusively) for AN surgery.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Mindy .....

I have to say that Dr. Friedman truly has the gifts of not only being an excellent surgeon, but of being a very caring and concerned physician, as well.  He always answers calls or emails within 24 hours, no matter what the question.  I don't know how he does it.  He is one of the few doctors I know who puts his patient's concerns and welfare above all else.

I consider it a privilege to call him "my doctor."

I am just here to agree with everything Clarice said!  I am still amazed at how quickly he responds via text or phone call.  He really treats the person and the medical condition.  I will always feel so fortunate that he was my surgeon...

Translab 6/4/10 for 4+ cm left AN.  Drs Friedman and Schwartz at HEI saved my life!
BAHA surgery on 10/7/10 with Dr Battista of Chicago Ear Institute (Oticon Ponto Pro)

I've heard nothing but great things about Friedman and I have to agree, he rocks!

More and more docs email and call patients quickly these days - including my own - and I must say it's a wonderful thing!

I don't actually "make" trouble..just kind of attract it, fine tune it, and apply it in new and exciting ways

I emailed him today asking him a silly question. I told him that I have long hair and whether I would need to cut it for retrosigmoid? I asked how much he will shave :-\. He emailed me back within 5 minutes saying no reason for a hair cut and they shave 3 inches from behind my ear.
I am amazed how quickly he has answered my petty questions. Even on a weekend or holiday. I'm impressed.
