Back from House!
« on: May 15, 2012, 07:47:09 am »
Hello Gang,
It's taken me awhile to get on the ANA message boards...pre and post surgical anxiety got the best of me.  I can't say enough about how lucky I was to be seen at the HEI.  I'm now 3 weeks post-op and feeling much better.  Already walking up to 2 miles a day and hope to start a slow jog next week.  I had a 10 hour surgery for a 4x3x3 tumor in which only 1% was left behind on the facial nerve.

While there I was fortunate to meet Dave and Ray and even had the opportunity to take a picture with the "magic scarf"...hope it brings me and all of us good luck!

Thanks to everyone who shared their comments, thoughts and prayers with me.

Hi Marc,

So glad to hear that you're on the other side and doing well.  I'm always anxious to hear from those who went to House recently as I will be there on July 18th.  I'm still watching for responses from Dave and Ray.  A slow jog next week....I hope I can be that lucky.

Hi, Marc ~

Thanks for sharing your positive AN surgery (at HEI) outcome with us.  Wishing you a continued successful recovery.

4.5 cm AN diagnosed 5/06.  Retrosigmoid surgery 6/06.  Follow-up FSR completed 10/06.  Tumor shrinkage & necrosis noted on last MRI.  Life is good.

Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is.  The way we cope with it is what makes the difference.

Hey Marc,

It's great to hear from you and I'm glad we had the opportunity to meet at House. I've been thinking about you and just haven't been up to posting yet. I'll add my story today. You are making incredible progress too. Yay! I've been hearing a lot of good stories from House lately. And your story is another one. I'm doing much better too. Drop me a line when you're up to it. No balance issues for me and my recovery is coming along nicely. Just so you know, I was using your two week bench mark as my first goal to active. I was released not to long after you. Pretty nice feeling. Okay, I'll go post my update. You got me all motivated. Congratulations on your awesome progress.
