I saw an Ehlers Danlos Syndrome specialist on Wed. and he suggested that I had an allergy to the mesh because it wasn't pure Titanium. I searched on the internet and found a supplier that said they sent samples to Johns Hopkins. They were in China and I asked them what was in the alloy. The woman said that she would not tell me until I placed an order. Later someone from her company said that the alloy contained Nickel which I am very allergic to. My friend gave me a necklace earrings set for my birthday a few years ago. My neck started bleeding as did my ears. A few years later a friend gave me a necklace she got for me from EBay. I wore it for a few days and my neck was really bleeding. I looked on the internet and there was a group of people talking about their allergy to Nickel. My dermatologist told me not to wear costume jewelery and gave me cortisone cream to help out the outbreak. I just couldn't wear anything with nickel. Now I find out that the Titanium mesh is not pure Titanium but contains Nickel. The nurse sent me the brochure from the supplier: Stryker and gave the components. I sent this to my friend, who is a jewelers and mettalurgist. Now I am facing the project of getting this thing out of my hear.
