Derek, do you see a neurology specialist as well. That is one of the things I think i shoule be having
Lou x

Lou...

I do not have any referral to a neurology specialist. I actually have two NHS neurosurgeons allocated to monitoring my ongoing situation. I have a neurosurgeon at Newcastle upon Tyne who I have not seen for a number of years and merely use his services to arrange my annual MRI scans locally. The resulting images are forwarded to my other neurosurgeon at Sheffield who specialises in stereotactic radiosurgery which would be my preferred treatment option in the event that future treatment is necessary.

Best Regards

Derek
Residing UK. In 'watch & wait' since diagnosis in March 2002 with right side AN. Initially sized at 2.5cm and now self reduced to 1.3cm.
All symptoms have abated except impaired hearing on affected side which is not a problem for me.

Hello Lou sorry to hear you have had problems with our NHS service.  All I can say is I was wait and watch for three years, had 10 NRI scans and 2 CAT scans during that time and eventually had the tumour out in London I also had a BAHA fitted and had surgery on my eye  (all for free) I received nothing but top servicce and could not fault the NHS is any way.  I just felt under the tremendous difficulty our hospitals now have to work because of cutbacks they gave me a fantastic service.
March 2011 - Acoustic Neuroma translab surgery
July    2011 - Tarsorrhaphy surgery
June   2012 - BAHA abutment surgery
July    2012 - Tarsorrhapy reversed
Sept   2012 - BAHA (Pronto Pro) fitted
Sept   2013 - Diplopia Surgery
April   2014 - Platinum chain surgery
