Facial Problems
« on: January 17, 2013, 08:11:03 pm »
Has anyone had this issue after radiation?

My facial issue closes my right eye (AN Side) so I can not see out of it or open it until it passes.
I was put on decadron in Sept and  have since weaned off  having some other issues feet swelling and painful but thinking might be from coming off steroids.  I have had some issues but seems they are no worse than taking the meds - and the meds were swelling me up needed to buy clothes 2x bigger (thrift store) so hoping I can fit into my clothes within the next month.
Did notice some balance issues but shifted weight to good side and those are gone.  That's about it.

Can anyone put a name to this?

Thanks

Does the episode also "pull" or distort the facial muscles on that side while the eye is closed?  If so, I would suspect it's hemifacial spasms.

Grammy;

   You may have some tumor swelling yet to cause the hemifacial spasms. It could take some time ( a year or even two ) to appertain to normal. You've had follow up up MRI yet?
   Please keep in close touch with your Tx provider however.
   I'm happy for you that your clothes were not purchased at full retail!  : )
