Lumbar Puncture?
« on: February 19, 2013, 12:02:25 pm »
I am just under 4 weeks out from surgery, and I have had swelling/fluid evident behind my surgical side ear where the retro was performed.

It has been so painful, when I would put pressure on it, as when I slept, it woke me up in pain and with headaches.

My Dr. had me have my first ever lumbar puncture, or spinal tap, yesterday and told me I would feel better afterwards.

My beginning pressure reading was 28 and they took it down to 12.5. I do feel a little better, but don't know if this is something that lasts or does anyone have experience with this making things improve in the recovery process.

While it did make me feel better, it was a highly uncomfortable experience I do not wish to go through again.
