Neurosurgeons and Neurotologists

I'm curious if anyone has noted a distinction between treatment preferences/recommendations from neurosurgeons as opposed to neurotologists?

My AN surgery - like most others' AN surgeries - was done by a team of doctors.  In my case, it was a neurosurgeon and a neurotologist; just the way it seems to be here in Illinois.  There are others on the Forum who had a team, but their docs didn't necessarily have the same credentialing as mine.
