Sclera fitting
« on: January 29, 2016, 06:06:44 am »
I work for an ophthalmology practice and we just took my husband in this week to meet with our contact lens specialist. This was my first experience with a sclera lens and I was pleasantly pleased. My husband did great! The lens was a perfect fit the first go around! He has no feeling in his eye due to the facial nerve damage but he could tell right away that things "felt" better. We will get the lens in a few weeks and then on to the surgeon for some facial reanimation surgery.

If you are in the Atlanta area I would highly recommend Dr. Lou Schlesinger at our clinic (Marietta Eye Clinic). He took his time...explained everything...excellent fitter and doctor. We can't wait to get the lens for him!!

Small world. I saw Dr. Lou for my Scleral Lens too...four+ months ago. Had the same experience; perfect fit the first time. Heather Swafford, his assistant was in the room and has also been a great help to me. I actually told Dr. Lou getting my Scleral Lens was a life changer after suffering for the last six years since my AN surgery. Your husband will love his new normal with this lens.

Take Care  ;)

PS - By the way, I live in Acworth.

Left-Translab July '09. Cyberknife Jan 2010. In Apr 2017, four more tumors found; three in the brain and one, 7cm long, on my spinal cord; it was surgically removed. It was cancerous, and so are the others. I've been receiving Chemo since June '18, and I'm still in treatment.
