All went well yesterday..so glad to have this  part over & hoping for as few side effects as possible...worst thing so far has been my soaring glucose levels, due to steroids they gave me...

Glad it went well!  Just had my next to last CK treatment!
3/25/13- dx 18x11x14 mm AN, hearing loss in right ear x 5+ years, 5 sessions of CK completed May 2013, now a "post toastie".  Follow up MRI 4/14/14 - 15x19x11 mm. Stable with some signs of necrosis.
 Yippee!

Thanks for letting us know, Jeanne.   I'm glad all went well.

Don't be tricked into thinking you didn't have surgery yesterday!   Give your body time to rest, heal, recuperate.   The treatment is working its way through your body---so please don't overdue it.   I did my GK three weeks ago and am still resting and taking it easy as I ease back into my routines.

Don't forget the cold compresses (MK's advice to me!) and so glad you're on the other side.  Here's to a speedy recovery!!

And Teri---glad you're almost done with the CK!
Oct 2012:  Constant Pulsatile Tinnitus
Feb 28, 2013: Dx AN 1.4 cm X .9 mm
April 19, 2013:  GK at UPMC w/Dr. Lunsford

Some things in my life need to matter less, and other things in my life need to matter more.  So yes, I'm taking this as a "lesson learned experience."

Congrats and welcome to the club.

GK is kind of anticlimactic. You lie there in the machine. There's a barely audible hum and it's like nothing is happening. When I was done, I sat up, had the head frame removed, stood up, felt OK, got dressed, walked out the door where my friend picked me up about 1 PM and we went to lunch. After that I went home and rested. Next day back to normal. The sore spots from the head frame went away after a week or two and nothing has happened since Jan 22 (knock on wood).

Didn't get any super powers.

You'll have to let us know if you get some. ::)

congratulations Jeanne.  Aren't you glad it's over with.    I think the anticipation of the whole ordeal was the worst thing.   Keep us posted.

I'm feeling better now, 2 weeks out...I felt really bad the first week after the GK-foggy head, tired, dizzy, queasy...I'm wondering if I had some brain edema....all of this has gotten better in a sort of "2 steps forward, one step back" way....I'm actually going to play bridge with friends this afternoon!
