Vestibular Neuritis 4.5 yrs post cyberknife
« on: June 21, 2013, 12:36:49 pm »
Hello All,

It's been awhile since I've posted.  Been dealing with other health issues.  AN generally stable and not bothersome.  Last MRI Jan of this year shows it's now smaller than at dx.  During the last 2 years I have had "spells" where I get dizzy and nauseous.  Generally 2 meclizine and lying down for 2-6 hrs and it abates.  This Tues at work out of nowhere dizziness turned into vertigo, I was vomiting violently and I'm off work until Weds.  Dr. diagnosed vestibular neuritis.  In addition to vestibular suppressants (valium, meclizine) started me on a medrol dose pack and antiviral at my request.  Said studies show, it doesn't help but won't hurt.  I am markedly better today, even walked a few blocks outside and have reduced my valium dosage so as not to get too dependent.  It was awful, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.  I am going to vestibular rehab in a few weeks.  It's something I've never done formally, and feel I could benefit.  I do try to do things on my own for my vestibular system.  Has any one else had this after treatment?  Of interest, it's thought to be caused by herpes virus (amongst others) and I do get herpes 1-3 times per year on my left (AN) side.  Thanks for any input.
