platinum weight removal
« on: March 12, 2014, 01:27:01 pm »
Just when I thought that I would be living with my eye lid weight forever my facial Dr. decides that it is time for it to come out. Last Thursday the weight was removed after 27 months and except for a little swelling my eye is closing nicely. The weight and lower lid tuck were done 10 days post OP . Dr. Hadlock at Mass Eye and Ear did a great job.Happy to be rid of the weight and life is good.   Peace Dave J

Great news.  You can rub the eye now! A small thing, but one my husband comments about frequently.  I  know my husband would be so happy to have his weight removed, but he's not  there yet.
Husband diagnosed 5/30/09 with 3.2cm right AN
Surgery at  Columbia Presbyterian 8/4/09
Platinum eye weight implant - 8/17/09
17 days in hospital and rehab
SSD, facial weakness, some tinnitus, headaches , balance and eye problems

No rubbing yet Mandy because of the self dissolving stitches but the eye is good.I also spent time in rehab (5wks) and on a walker. I have put a lot of time into therapy and exercise and I am back to my active life style. We wish the same for your husband. All we can do is keep pushing forward. Peace Dave
