Any experiance with University of Michigan Doctors?

We have a HMO insurance plan and we are not getting approval to go outside of network from our insurance. We wish to go to House Ear Institute for the surgery.
Any one has any idea for apeal to the insurance?
Has anyone gone thru this insurance issues?

If we have to get surgery done in Michigan, does any one has any experience with University of Michigan Doctors?
One of the doctor in Michigan Ear Institute has suggested us Translab approach fort he surgery, but me an my husband does not want ot go thru that approach.
