advice re eyes

Hi all , am in the uk , so i went too see my eye doc. yesterday he did a test too open the tear ducts and put saline in too see how well they drain, at the end of it he said it is the pump part that does not work as good, he said he could make another tiny hole for drainage has anyone heard of this , and if so what does it involve , many thanks in advance xx
