● ANA Educational Webinar Recording and Group Discussion
Quality of Life Issues with an Acoustic Neuroma

Presented by Michael J. Link, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN
This is a recorded video presentation with audio and slides from November 13, 2014.
The great majority of clinical scientific studies reporting the outcomes of patients with acoustic neuromas often focus exclusively on facial nerve outcomes and hearing results. However, there are many other aspects that may impact quality of life. In conjunction with colleagues in Bergen, Norway, Mayo Clinic has embarked on a large study of quality of life outcomes in patients with acoustic neuromas.  This webinar will review how quality of life is measured and how the various treatment options impact quality of life including dizziness, headache, etc.
● Caring and Sharing

FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION OR TO RSVP, PLEASE CONTACT
YOUR LOCAL SUPPORT GROUP LEADERS/FACILITATORS
:
Agnes Garino, Local Support Group Leader/Facilitator
Phyllis Trulock, Local Support Group Co-Leader/Co-Facilitator
The meeting will be facilitated by Agnes Garino and Phyllis Trulock, post-treatment acoustic neuroma patients.

Who should attend?  Family members, caregivers, friends and interested persons are encouraged to attend.
Benefits of attending a local support group communicating in a nurturing, non-judgmental environment with others who have shared a common acoustic neuroma experience; sharing information on dealing with specific problems, educational opportunities about the latest acoustic neuroma topics of interest; and providing emotional support to all patients, both pre- and post-treatment. This helps in reducing the isolation and loneliness that many acoustic neuroma patients feel.
