Radiosurgery Recommendations Ohio
« on: July 29, 2015, 04:54:41 pm »
Hello all. I am leaning (this week anyway) toward radiosurgery to treat my 12x5 AN. I was wondering if anyone can make any specific recommendations for doctors in Ohio.

I have already seen doctors Adunka, Guiou, and Prevedello at Ohio State University. I was hoping someone might be able to recommend doctors in Cleveland or Cincinnati too. I am willing to travel just about anywhere in Ohio for consultations--but I must limit my search to Ohio, for insurance reasons. I am hoping to hear primarily about doctors to consult with for Gamma Knife radiosurgery.

Thanks all.

Kent

The ANA website has a list of specialists on the following page:

https://www.anausa.org/resources/medical-resources/physicians-directory/47-menu-articles/9/418-physician-directory-by-state

And a list of facilities on the following page:

https://www.anausa.org/resources/medical-resources/medical-center-directory

You should be able to find additional resources on those pages.
3/15/18 12mm x 6mm x5mm
9/21/16 12mm x 7mm x 5mm
3/23/15 12mm x 5.5mm x 4mm
3/13/14 12mm x 6mm x 4mm
8/1/13 14mm x 5mm x 4mm (Expected)
1/22/13 12mm x 3mm (Gamma Knife)
10/10/12 11mm x 4mm x 5mm
4/4/12 9mm x 4mm x 3mm (Diagnosis)

While I did not have radio treatment for my tumor, I know the following facts:

The Cleveland Clinic is one of three hospitals with teaching programs for the Perfexion Gamma Knife unit which implies to me  a level of expertise.
University Hospital in Cleveland has an Acoustic Neuroma Management Program and team of experienced physicians and offers cyberknife treatment of acoustic neuromas.
Given the reputations of these hospitals it seems worth contacting them for an additional opinion

Thanks arizonajack. Those lists are helpful. I was hoping, though, to hear personal experiences/recommendations. Any Ohio folks out there willing to share personal recommendations for facilities or individual doctors (in Ohio)?

LakeErie: that is so funny: right before I logged in to check for replies to this thread, I received a call from the Cleveland Clinic to schedule an appointment for consultation. I'm glad I pursued that consultation, even though it is on the other side of the state from me!

Thanks for the responses!
