My third radio surgery maybe gone bad ?
« on: May 27, 2018, 03:37:06 am »
I’m from Canada with melanoma that spread 5 years ago to brain but I have a question:

I had radio surgery 4 years ago for melanoma on 2 tumors and after other systematic treatment had complete response

January 2017 has 1 of 2 done as new ones appeared,

November had 3 more and 2 other new not done

The machine that time was not working properly as they came in and told me.

As the machine was moving from my past experience there is no buzzing noise till it stops, you here buzz then moves and stops and buzz

During that time the machine was stopped , buzzz and kepted buzzing for approx 1 min and moving and stopping

Since then I gave approx 8 more millimetric tumours

I want to know if the approx for example 4 mm Tumour was not completely done can this cause the cells to create new or more than one Tumour ?

I feel I need to get all done again ?

Please help me get this off my mind as it’s bothered me since.

It was also the 3rd time and they stopped screwing the head halo on and instead put mask ??

Thanks in advance

The newest gamma knife machine, called the Icon, no longer requires the head frame with screws. It uses a mask instead. Sounds like they are now using a newer machine.
