"Nerve Anatomically Intact"
« on: May 23, 2016, 04:51:22 pm »
Everyone always tells me that I "have nothing to worry about," because even though I have full facial paralysis on my left side, my facial nerve is anatomically intact. Does this actually make a difference? Does it really indicate a different prognosis than if my nerve were not anatomically intact?

Who is "everyone"?

 ;)

If the nerve was not anatomically intact, it isn't likely to ever work again.

Being anatomically intact gives you some hope for improvement over a long period of time unless the nerve is anatomically intact but electrically unresponsive.
