« on: August 16, 2017, 02:23:43 am »
Hi all,

This day last year I was in theater having my AN removed.

It wasn't an easy road and a very challenging year and I am very thank full that I made it through my first year  :)

I also want to thank all the people that contributed to this forum as it helped me a lot and it has answered all of my concerns and questions and also motivated me a lot.

Regards,
Frederic

Thank you  ;)

I am still having some issues with my balance, left eye and facial muscles, headaches, fatigue, and concentration issues but there has been a some improvement since the operation.

Some days the issues mentioned above hit me for no specific reason and can last a few days. I have eliminated activities that I thought are causing the issues but the activities don't seem to be the cause as they still randomly happen.

I have learned to appreciate the good days and to make full use off them as far as my energy levels allow me to. I have also accepted that the bad days will come no matter what I do. On those bad days I try to take it easy so I don't aggravate the situation.

So yeah I am coping and trying to stay positive.

Happy "AN-niversary"
1st AN surgery @ age 23, 16 hours
Loss of 7-10th nerves
mulitple "plastic" repairs to compensate for effects of 7th nerve loss
tumor regrowth, monitored for a few years then surgically removed @ age 38 (of my choice, not medically necessary yet)

Good for you!  Staying positive is always good.
I have started a vitamin supplement and it seems to be helping me so much!
