Ahhhh, what’s up, Doc?
« on: October 30, 2017, 07:49:03 pm »
I have scanned all the posts under physicians, and get the feeling HEI has the best of the best, which is not saying others are not good.  There are amazing surgeons out there spread across our great land, but when I think of brain surgery, I am reminded that this is not a sliver.  No one can tell you who to pick, but I am here to get great advice so I can make a good decision.  Do any of you who didn’t go to HEI wish you would have?  Also are there no people who were disappointed in House at all? That is almost unheard of that everyone who went there is that pleased. Are no negative comments posted here?  I have had two opinions in MN from two facilities.  I do not have 100 percent peace. I have time, so I will write to HEI. A third opinion cannot hurt. Do I understand correctly that Friedman left there?  Slatted year and Schwartz is a great team? So many questions......  I know there is a website to rate doctors, but is there a place to go to see ratings on AN docs specifically?

Hi Muffin .....

For what it is worth, as of this November (tomorrow??) both Dr. Rick Friedman and Dr. Marc Schwartz (both formerly at House Ear Clinic) will be working together once again at the UC San Diego Acoustic Neuroma Center.  They are an amazing team and will do free consultations of your MRI for additional opinions.

Clarice, thanks so much for this great information. Does this mean they have left House and will practice at this new facility?  By any chance, do you have a number that gets to them or their secretary.  This information is worth a lot!  Do you have a contact number, or should I just google the Center?  This is exciting news.  Xxxooo

Hi Muffin again .....

Dr. Friedman left House back in 2013.  Dr. Schwartz did not leave until last month.  Dr. Friedman went to USC from House but they are so excited to be back working together again, this time at UC San Diego.  Contact information:

UCSD Head and Neck Surgery
Attn Kris Siwek
ECOB 3-016
9444 Medical Center Drive
La Jolla, CA 92037

Kris is an AN patient who has been Dr. Friedman's patient navigator/program manager for a couple of years now.  She is top notch in providing all of the necessary information quickly to patients.

Best wishes.

Thank you so much. I will call today.  I just want to be prepared and another opinion won’t hurt.
