AN size post Gamma Knife

Very interesting new publication regarding timing of AN swelling after Gamma Knife treatment from group at UC San Francisco.  Take away point is that tumor may be enlarged for several years before shrinkage occurs.

Some do and some don't and there seems to be no reasons behind this.  I was fortunate that mine never did swell.  I have had 6 MRI's  post GK 8 years ago. Individual results always vary it seems.

A friend of mine treated by Cyberknife didn’t have any swelling either.  So I agree Rupert, it’s an individual thing and unfortunately there is no way to predict how the tumor will react.
