Head cold -post surgery
« on: March 06, 2018, 11:38:26 am »
I am about 5 months post surgery and have a head cold.
I have a lot of congestion and sinus pressure, but notice more pressure on my surgery side.
I am also noticing more facial numbness than I usually have. Normally, while my facial paralysis stays at a fairly consistent minor level (HB 2) , my numbness comes and goes.
Does anyone else have increased symptoms when they have a cold?

I've found everything can be a little different. A head cold puts pressure on stuff and it may not respond or react like it used to.  For me, it's all part of the "new normal."
Vestibular Schwannoma 1.2 cm. Right side.
Middle fossa surgery at University of Iowa on May 9 2016.
Hearing saved.  Face is fine. Balance pretty darn good most days.
One year follow up MRI showed no tumor.
Five year follow up showed no tumor, so I'm in the clear.
