steroids shot and tinnitus
« on: July 30, 2018, 09:35:25 am »
I recently was exposed to poison ivy and broke out in a rash on face and arms. I was given a 2X steroid shot and some topical steroid cream to put on the worst spots. The first couple of days after the shot were fine.  But over the next few days the tinnitus ramped up significantly. I also noticed this when given oral prednisone 6 months ago when the AN was first diagnosed.  High screeching, jingling chains, and seemingly less hearing.  I thought steroids were suppose to help with hearing issues. Has anyone else noticed that steroids make tinnitus worse?

I experienced only relief when I took steroids. The tinnitus sounded different--higher pitched--but overall the steroids should have shrunken the tumor enough for some healing to have taken place. At least that was my experience and understanding.
